A job with prospects and lots of future opportunities
Laying the foundation for your own career and at the same time being there for people who need support. For many young, and also older, people who are looking for a meaningful job, the working area of a nurse could be the right path to a fulfilling professional occupation. As a caregiver, you will look after elderly people in need of help, as well as those who are seriously and chronically ill. You are often their only point of contact for personal and social matters, and therefore develop a close bond with residents who are the recipients of care. Another important task is contact with relatives and family members. In order for you to be able to provide residents and relatives with adequate support in coping with their problems, you require professional training. In addition to looking after and caring for a wide range of target groups, the duties of caregivers also include providing instructions, advice, and training on specific care-related topics.
The heysterman academy for health and social affairs gives you a variety of various options for developing in this professional field. For starters, you can choose a one-year training course as a nursing assistant or a three-year course as a registered nurse as a future-focused entry into the profession. Close networking with clinics and nursing facilities ensures the transfer of theoretical and practical skills and forms the basis for a successful start to your career. Combined with the Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Studies at the Hamburg Distance-Learning University of Applied Sciences, our graduates have the best career opportunities.

ATTRACTING FOREIGN TRAINEES FOR CARE ROLES
Summary report on a foreign student from the sponsor organisation's perspective Effective as of 1 October 2018, Ms Milene Meneguefack started her training as a certified geriatric nurse at BELLINI Senioren-Residenz Geldern GmbH. In this connection, Mr Ingo Heysterman, managing director of the heysterman academy for health and social affairs in Alpen, pointed out that continuous socio-educational support during training, in combination with integration services, serve as guarantors of success. To this end, both institutions developed a common system of practical instruction, which, among other things, enabled Ms Milene Meneguefack to effectively transfer theory into practice over the long term and to quickly connect to the nursing team and to Ms Koslowski, her practice manager.
INNOVATIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
Graphic learning paths are an entertaining way for students to move through the subject areas they need for their nursing exam. At the beginning of their nursing training, future nursing students are introduced to the various areas of nursing knowledge in their native language. If they then switch to nursing training in Germany, then, along with their language skills, their ability to learn in German-language courses is also enhanced. The learning nugget concept on graphical paths is particularly well-suited to this type of learner. Learners receive small units of information, which they comprehend through text, image, video or audio. Each spot also contains an entertaining evaluation unit that goes over what has been learned. The method is an entertaining way for learners to deepen their knowledge of exam-relevant content. The LMS, developed for mobile devices, makes use of motion sensors, cameras and GPS for the training options. Learner training sessions become real scavenger hunts across the entire learning campus. In addition to enjoyment and emotional involvement, movement is also an important factor in learning. Learners move through the building and use their mobile device's camera to capture posters on the walls or pictures in books. Digital information is provided to them in the form of text, images, audio and video. The learning stations are derived from the task feedback, so learners experience a change of perspective in addition to the change of location. Sometimes a Learning Spot leads them into the dining room of the connected retirement home or to a nursing station, where theoretical knowledge is immediately put into practice.
