Bachelor of Science

in cooperation with the Hamburg Distance-Learning University of Applied Sciences (HFH)

The bachelor’s degree runs in parallel to training: prospective “practitioners” qualify twice over for the future – with the vocational exam and the academic Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). This opens up good, diverse career opportunities in this exciting, pioneering professional field.  One year after the start of your training, you will supplement your specialist health knowledge in the practically-oriented degree course in Healthcare Studies, which builds on the content of the training and ties it in with advanced academic knowledge. The part-time bachelor’s course comprises eight semesters. In the specifically vocational modules, students of the relevant professional groups stay with those in the same field and work on subject-specific topics.  Another advantage: in the interdisciplinary study modules, professional groups work together from the start, which, in turn, strengthens the course’s interdisciplinary approach. In this dual study programme, you will learn how to network science and practice together, and will pursue an academic career path with your studies.

Admission requirements

Admission requirements

The requirements for admission to a distance-learning degree course at the HFH are determined by the Hamburg Higher Education Act. An applicant can be admitted if he or she can prove that he or she has the general university entrance qualification (Allgemeine Hochschulreife) or university of applied sciences entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife). Applicants with a subject-linked university entrance qualification will be admitted if the “subject link” corresponds to the chosen course.  In the case of the dual degree course in Health Care Studies, a training contract must also be submitted by a professional school that cooperates with the HFH on the dual degree course. Admission without a university (of applied sciences) entrance qualification is also possible in accordance with the Hamburg Higher Education Act and will be reviewed in individual cases.
